I have been deeply interested in global health since my summer in Costa Rica. There I got my first taste of anthropology when I learned about the interplay between Western medicine and traditional healing in Costa Rican culture. I became fascinated by the challenges of improving the health of all people. If we conquer those challenges, I believe economic and social disparities will subsequently decrease. I hope to be a part of solving global health's greatest problems, and I see pursuing interdisciplinary studies in the humanities, social sciences, and life sciences as the next step to realizing my lofty goal.
