What about being a student at Boston University most excites you?
Upon visiting BU, I was inspired by its values of innovation and creativity because I believe that they perfectly match my own.
Since I was a little girl, I've had my heart set on science. In the last couple of years, my growing passion for the intersection of biology and physics led me straight to biomedical engineering. My dream is to use biomedical innovation, research and development to better humankind. I believe that BU and its department of biomedical engineering can equip me to achieve this dream.
I was impressed by the state-of-the-art classrooms and the excitement of both the students and the professor in the Advanced Biology class I attended. Afterwards I spoke with a student who answered my questions about BU's countless research opportunities and I learned it was completely realistic to expect that I could be involved with the "Undergraduate Research Program (UROP)" as early as my freshman year. Ultimately, I would love to be mentored by someone like Dr. Noted Faculty, who is working to devise a medical device to cure diabetes. Dr. Faculty's work is particularly significant to me because I have done some independent experimentation trying to develop a similar medical device.
Nothing would make me happier than to spend the next four years at BU, because I know that it will accelerate me on my path to achieving my dream.
