These are the books I’ve read for pleasure over the past year: 1. Matched by Ally Condie; 2. Once a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough; 3. Slide by Jill Hathaway; 4. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins; 5.The Quantum Universe by Brian Cox & Jeff Forshaw (what I am reading now); 6. The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides; 7. It’s Kind Of A Funny Story byNed Vizzini; 8. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys; 9. Free Radicals by Michael Brooks (next book I am going to read).
My favorite book is Between Shades of Gray, because it describes realistically what happened during the Soviet Occupation of Lithuania through the eyes of a 15-year-old deportee. Through this book, I have learned more about the Soviet Union and about Lithuania in the 1940s, and I have realized how lucky I am to have the life I do, and; therefore, I try to take advantage of the countless opportunities that are given to me daily.
