When I transferred to my new school, the first club that I joined was Project Green. That fall, the club embarked on a clean energy project that would provide the school with solar panels on the roof for free IF we were able to enough local residents and businesses to sign up for a new “clean energy” plan. We pounded the pavement staffed "sign-up stations" throughout the community, and got the necessary sign-ups. The school now has solar panels – saving $2,400 on electricity each year and making our community more environmentally responsible.
